Begin of the laser development at TRUMPF Laser GmbH (former HAAS-LASER), a subsidiary of Carl Haas spiral springs. At the beginning of the development Nd-Glas-Laser were used for spot welding on spiral springs for clock spirals, but were also sold for
all sorts of spot welding.

TRUMPF Laser expands its product range to include marking lasers by taking over the Swiss manufacturer Gretag.

TRUMPF Laser becomes part of the TRUMPF Group.

Introduction of the diode-pumped marking laser and so involvement in the diode-pumped
solid state laser technology.

2000

In March 2000 the section of marking lasers from TRUMPF Laser was moved and set up as an independent subsidiary in Gruesch under the name TRUMPF Laser Marking Systems AG. The company started operations in June 2000.

In December 2002 TRUMPF Laser Marking Systems AG has received the VDA 6.4 quality certification from TÜV (Engineering Control Association) of southern Germany.
